READ
Ephesians 5: 18-20 “Be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
DEVO
Ephesians 5 teaches us that The Helper, The Holy Spirit, our God-given priceless constant Companion has us! Practicing the presence of God involves continual prayer, which is so much more than just bringing our worded petitions to the Creator. We practice the presence of God by giving thanks, glorifying, singing, reciting scripture, reciting new prayers or older ones already etched in our hearts.
We may pray in tongues, or in silent contemplation on our knees, or lamenting with our tears and groaning. We may meditate in prayer, journal, paint, sway, walk, or playing an instrument of worship. May we give the Holy Spirit free reign in and through us, according to the will of God who knows our hearts.
PRAY
Lord, teach me to pray in a way that is unique to who you made me to be and also glorifies you. But also stretch me, challenge me, and grow me in prayer.
