There are several ways to serve at Sanctuary. Check out the descriptions and then let us know which team you’re most interested in serving with.
Connections Team

We all want a warm and loving welcome for Framily and our first-time guests on Sunday mornings. Join our Sunday Connections Team and help make it happen!

  • Front Door Greeter: Greet all who come through the door

  • Connections Table: Lead person for the team, assures coffee is turned on/off and oversees any activities in the foyer (training provdied)

  • Sanctuary Greeter/Usher: Greet and help people find seats. Provide handouts to guests for special events.

  • Security + Parking: Keeps watch during services to maintain the safest possible environment. Respond when needed in an emergency medical situation (training provdied). 

  • Coffee Support: Keeps coffee and water fresh and ready for our guests, refilling as needed.

Prayer Team

The prayer team provides for the prayer needs of our congregation including prayer gatherings, taking prayer requests and training. Volunteers serve (alongside our staff) in providing care for the congregation.

Royal City Kids Ministry

Our Royal City Kids (RCK) volunteers help guide our children on their spiritual journeys every week with engaging lessons and fun activities. Serving in RCK is a great opportunity to invest in our young people from infant to elementary.

Available volunteer positions include: 

  • Check-In Desk: Be the welcoming face of RCK to parents/ kids on Sunday! Use the provided equipment to look kids up by name, print name and security labels and add visitors into our system

  • Floater: Available in the hallway, check on classrooms and assist where needed, assist with bathroom breaks and take kiddos for a walk who may need a break, help communicate with families that may need to pick-up their kiddos
  • Infant/Toddler Volunteer: Play with and snuggle our littlest kiddos during service

  • Pre-K Assistant: Assist lead teachers with crafts and classroom activities

  • Transitional Kindergarten (TK) - 5th Grade Volunteers: Engage with students during our large group lesson/video and present prepared lesson/activities in classroom

  • Classroom Prep: During the week, make copies, prepare materials for Sunday classrooms

The MX (Youth Ministry)

The MX is our Youth Ministry for our Middle & High School students, meeting Sunday nights. Volunteers for this ministry will provide valuable mentorship and spiritual direction for our students in a fun and engaging environment.

  • Middle or High School Adult Leader: Connect with students on Sunday nights and beyond. Our leaders welcome and engage students on Sunday nights and assist in facilitating discussions about faith and justice. Volunteers are welcome to attend weekly, bi weekly or monthly.

  • MX Planning/Teaching Team: These adults develop lessons from an existing curriculum to fit our needs better and then serve as the lead teacher or facilitator of a Sunday evening.

  • Snack Provider: Do you love to bake and cook? Well students love to eat! Share your gift of baking with MX students and leaders by providing a snack once a month or quarterly.

Sanctuary Worship

Our dynamic worship ministry sets the “sound” of our multiethnic community.

We are looking for the following:

  • Keyboard

  • Drums

  • Guitar (Electric & Acoustic)

  • Bass Guitar

  • Vocalists

Production Team

This team is responsible for sound, in-service visuals and livestream.

We are looking for the following positions:

  • Sound Board Operator

  • Slides Operator

  • Livestream Support

  • Camera Operator

Training is provided for these positions.

Communications Team

The Creative Team leads the way in communicating both internally and externally about Sanctuary Columbus.

We are looking to add in the following areas:

  • Photography: Photos of events and Sunday services. Experience with photography preferred; 

  • Social Media/Content Creator: Real-time posting of events and Sunday services. Experience is helpful, but can be coached.

  • Graphic Designer: Help with designing images for social media, video or promotion
  • Videography: Videos for special promotions and storytelling.
  • Other Creative Roles: We're open to other creative gifts that you may have that you'd like to share with the church, for example: animation, illustration, writing, on-camera personality, etc.
