Romans 8:26-27 (NIV)
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance to God’s will.
DEVO
When looking in the mirror each morning I’m certain that most, if not all of us have some kind of trouble with that person staring back at them.. This I’m certain is an honest admission of us all. What Christian has not sincerely grieved over spiritual shortcomings: over “doing those things we should not do, while not doing the things we should.” Apostle Paul was acutely aware of these sentiments. But, we shouldn't just linger in this valley of spiritual desolation. Our cry, “Who will rescue us?” can be heard by God our Father.
PRAY
Lord, you know us better than we know ourselves. You see our strengths as well as our weaknesses. There are times when we are too unaware how to pray, whether from confidence or concern. Your word says that the Spirit intercedes for us and prays on our behalf, Thank you for always providing for our needs.
Amen.
