In 1979, the Black, female R&B group “Sister Sledge” recorded these famous lyrics: “We are family: I got all my sisters with me! We are family! Get up everybody and sing!”And we haven’t been able to stop affectionately singing those lyrics over ourselves ever since then!
We call ourselves “framily”– friends who love like family– here at Sanctuary. But what does that really mean? What heart postures and behaviors do we need in order to be framily to one another? In this sermon series, we will explore what scripture has to say about what it means to be the children of God and what we need to commit to one another to keep singing, “we are framily!” over ourselves.
